4/17/18 - High Wind Warning Issued

UPDATE - 9:20PM - The Fire Weather and Red Flag Warnings have been extended until 1:00am.

In addition to the Fire Weather Warning from 11:00am - 9:00pm today, the National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a High Wind Warning from 3:00pm - 9:00pm.  Sustained winds of 35-45mph with gusts to 60mph are possible later today.

In addition to the Fire Weather Warning in effect from 12:00-9:00pm on Tuesday, April 17th, a High Wind Watch has been issued from 3:00pm Tuesday - 1:00am Wednesday.

4/17/18 - Fire Weather Warning Issued

The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a Fire Weather Warning (Red Flag) for Tuesday, April 17th from 12:00pm - 9:00pm.  All outdoor burning should be avoided on Tuesday, and anyone working outdoors should use extreme caution with potential ignition sources.

The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a High Wind Warning from 1:00pm Friday through 7:00pm.  Sustained winds of 30-40mph, with gusts to 60mph, are forecast.  Take time today to secure loose outdoor items, and be prepared for hazardous driving conditions during the period.

4/11/18 - Red Flag Warnings Issued

Red Flag Warnings have been issued for Wednesday and Thursday, from 1:00pm-10:00pm both days.  Warm temperatures, strong winds, and dry fuels will combine to create extreme to critical fire danger conditions.  Do your part to prevent wildfires, and ensure you have a plan if fire threatens your home or property.

4/6/18 - Winter Weather Advisory Issued

The National Weather Service in Dodge City has expanded the Winter Weather Advisory to include Scott County.  The advisory will be in effect from 6:00pm this evening through 3:00am Saturday morning.  Be prepared for winter driving conditions, reduced visibility, and ensure you have proper clothing and equipment suitable to the frigid temperatures outdoors.

4/4/18 - Red Flag Warning Issued

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Wednesday, April 4th from 12:00-8:00pm. While wind speeds should be less than Tuesday, the relative humidity will be lower as well leading to drier conditions.

Avoid all outdoor burning, and report new fire starts immediately by dialing 911.

In addition to the High Wind Warning for Tuesday, a Red Flag Warning has been issued for increased fire danger in the afternoon and evening. Avoid ALL outdoor burning, and report fire starts immediately by dialing 911.

The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a High Wind Warning for Scott County from early Tuesday morning through the afternoon.  Sustained winds of 30-40mph, with gusts to 60mph, are possible.  Much of western Kansas is also covered in a High Winds Warning.

Take time today to secure loose items outdoors, and be prepared for hazardous driving condition on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a High Wind Watch for late Monday night into Tuesday afternoon.  A WATCH mean there is potential for a hazardous high wind event during the period.  If a High Wind WARNING is issued, secure outdoor items and be prepared for the possibility of hazardous driving conditions.
