2/26/18 - Red Flag Warning Issued

A Red Flag Warning, for dangerous fire weather, has been issued through 7pm this evening.  Strong winds, low humidity, and dry conditions will create critical fire conditions today.  NO outdoor burning should occur today, and anyone using torches, welders, or other possible ignition sources should use extreme caution.  Report any new fire starts immediately by calling 911.

2/23/18 - Winter Weather Advisory Issued

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for our area from 10:00pm tonight through 12:00pm Saturday due to forecast light ice accumulation.  Light snow accumulations are also possible during the period.

A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued until 11am Friday. If you encounter limited visibility while driving, slow your speed, increase follow distance, and use low beams.

2/17/18 - Red Flag Warning Issued

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for dangerous fire weather on Sunday, February 18th.  The RFW is in place from 1:00-7:00pm Sunday afternoon, but extreme caution should be used throughout the day.


2/17/18 - Fire Weather Watch Issued

The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a Fire Weather Watch for Sunday, February 18th from 1:00-7:00pm.  Strong winds, low humidity, and dry fuels will combine for elevated fire danger conditions.

Outdoor burning of any kind is discouraged this weekend.  Use extreme caution with possible ignition sources, and dispose of smoking materials appropriately.  If a new fire starts report it immediately by calling 911.

2/10/18 - Winter Weather Advisory Issued

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for our area from 3:00pm today through 3:00am Sunday morning.  Hazardous travel conditions may exist during the period due to the forecast 1-3" of snow.

2/5/18 - Winter Weather Advisory Issued

NWS Dodge City has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Scott County from midnight tonight through 12:00pm Tuesday. While we should remain on the lower end of the totals, 1-3" of snow is forecast for our area. The good news? The winds should not be as big an impact as with our last storm.

Storm Identification/Spotter Training Scheduled

While we have some time before spring arrives, severe weather "season" will be here before you know it. Do you want to learn more about thunderstorms, how they form, and how you can be better prepared?
